My husband and I had dinner at SP Eagle Inn and had a great meal. Our waitress, JoAnne, was very pleasant and friendly even tho one of the other waitresses couldn't come in for her shift. The chicken dinner was huge and we ended bringing home a large portion of our meals. We really like the updating that is taking place. Keep up the great job SP Eagle Inn

We usually go to Eagle Inn on a Friday night when the restaurant closes at 10pm. We went last night Saturday at 8:40pm thinking they were open till 10. On Saturdays they close at 9 We were graciously seated and waited on by Tammy who despite the lateness of our arrival was very cheerful and accommodating. Everything was excellent. She is a great person to have on staff with a great attitude.

A pleasant surprise! Everything was excellent. Superb potato pancakes! The fish fry was amazing. The fish was light and flaky and the batter was perfect. Would definitely recommend!

When I come from Milwaukee to visit my dad, we always end up here for breakfast. Today I had the taco omelet, and it was amazing! Never bad service or bad food when I come in.

I've been around the eagle inn since I was in diapers and drinking from a bottle. I love the food, 9 times out of 10 we have been satisfied. There's been a time or 2 I'll admit that our meal was awful. It depends on the cook, that's one downfall is that sometimes there's a not so good cook working and it turns out gross. But if the owner is cooking, its Wonderful. I have nothing but good things to say about the staff that has been there for 20+ years. However, the younger staff tends to be rude and act like your table means nothing. There's one waitress in particular, I can't remember her name, she's tall, skinny, with blonde hair and is a little older. She is the most obnoxious person I've ever met. In fact when we go there to eat, I specifically ask what tables are hers, so we avoid them. She talks so loud, and talks to customers like there babies. "Oh hun can I get you some ketchup?" In a baby voice. Makes me want to puke. I've actually heard her behind the counter complaining about her job, her hours, the boss, the customers, etc. She shouldn't be in the service industry. They have recently done some remodeling work and I think it looks great! I've never cared about how it looked, its a great place to go for good food and for the most part, a family oriented place! Would highly recommend.

I saw the reviews on Yelp but it was a friend's birthday and he wanted to hit up the Eagle Inn so I cautiously joined. The food was average - sort of traditional family style restaurant - I had a chicken fried steak and fries. They were OK - nothing great, but nothing bad. Also sampled the chicken dumpling soup which was ok, albeit a bit salty. What sunk this from a 3 star to a 2 star was the service. Our waitress couldn't have looked less interested in our table. She was borderline rude - and couldn't even keep track of which dishes went where at a 5 top. I am tempted to drop this review to a 1 star because of her, but I'll resist. I saw the owner was present here on Yelp a while back - here's my advice - switch from frozen food to fresh food and send disgruntled servers packing. You'd be a great candidate for restaurant impossible.

When up in the Sauk Prairie/ Merrimac Area we have been to the eagle Inn and having a "GOOD TASTE" in our mouths we went there for breakfast. Again we were pleased with the food and the Service. Most of the waitstaff are helpful & accommodating. The Lemon Meringue pie was fantastic. we WILL be back on our future visits

We used to make the trip to the Eagle Inn just about every Sunday morning. They have THE best Prime Rib Skillet I've ever had... but since having 3 kids, our trips out are limited for food. It's seat yourself, so you want to time your trip there to make sure you'll have a table available. The staff is generally friendly and helpful.

Thinking we would take a short drive to Prairie du Sac for lunch at the Eagle Inn, we made the short drive from Madison. We had been to this restaurant several times in years past and thought it would be a nice change of pace. Big mistake. The place hasn't changed since the last visit (physically), which would be OK if the food was as good as we remembered it to be. One of us order the grilled chicken sandwich and that is exactly what she got. A slab of grilled chick on a bun. No lettuce, no tomato, no mayo----Nothing but a dried out piece of chicken on a grilled bun (which was burned). My other lunch companion had the barbecue roast beef sandwich. After eating half of it he said that "half of this is more than enough". I opted for the chicken club wrap; one of their daily specials---how could you go wrong? Trust me, I made a mistake. It came on a spinach tortilla, with crumbled bacon and a few slices of DELI turkey. It was disgusting. We split an order of fries----at least they were warm, although slightly undercooked. Service was OK---nothing to write home about. As we left town we noted all of the other restaurants.. We will definitely try one of them next time we make the drive to Prairie du Sac. The Eagle Inn is definitely not going to get a return visit, which is sad because I have fond memories of decent food at a decent price from years past. (speaking of price, out lunch, with tip set up back $35.00 for three---a rip off considering the quality of the food)

I used to love this place as a kid. I would often go with my parents on a Friday night--they'd generally order fish, while I'd go for the hot beef open-faced sandwich. If I still had some room left, I'd get a piece of one of their ever-delicious pies. But a lot has changed over the years. Perhaps it's because I lived in the Bay Area for four years and discovered what good food really tastes like, or maybe the quality at this place has really gone that far south. During a recent trip back to Wisconsin, I went to the Eagle Inn with my parents. For some strange reason, I'd been craving a tuna melt, and they happened to have tuna melts on the menu. I really wish I would have gone for the hot beef sandwich--the tuna salad in the sandwich was extremely messy, and had way too much mayo. More of the filling ended up on the plate than in my mouth, and the flavor of the mayo overwhelmed the sandwich. Not only was the sandwich not so good, but the fries I got with the sandwich were cold. Gross. Nobody likes cold fries. The good thing about this place is that it's relatively cheap. You can very easily get a meal for under $10, and if you're strategic, you probably could manage for $5 or less. I thought the service was generally good. There are (or at least used to be) a number of servers that seemed to work there for years, and could handle things well.

The service is terrible, but the food is OK.
